This product is recommended if you suffer from dry and tired eyes due to the modern way of living (long working hours, computer, long driving,...) or other environmental factors such as pollution, weather,… Lipomyst stabilizes the lipid layer of the tear film, which is disturbed in case of evaporative dry eye (80% of all dry eye sufferers have dry eyes because of a lipid layer deficiency).

The major action and intended purpose of the product is achieved by spraying phospholipids onto the closed eyelids. The Lipomyst phospholipids mix with the natural lipids that are present on the eye lid margin. After you opened your eye, this new mix of phospholipids is being spread on the tear film and the lipid layer is being restored where necessary.

Apart from that, the liposomes applied to the other areas around the eye may penetrate the upper skin layer, but that is not the intended use of the product and only has a cosmetic effect.

In general there is no limitation of age but it is not recommended for children under 3 years old.

Lipomyst is intended to use exclusively on closed eyes. If the product is applied on open eyes, it may slightly sting but for a short duration only and it will not harm the eyes. 

In principle there is no limitation of using the product but clinical studies support that use of 3-4 times per day usually is sufficient. This means that ideally, you have to use the product each 3-4 hours.

Yes, it is normal that your eyes feel a bit wet after application but you will feel that this feeling disappears quickly. Lipomyst is a spray, so it is normal that it refreshes your eyes with its mist.

Lipomyst can be used while wearing make-up but then we recommend applying it from a larger distance (approximately 20 cm). There are no known allergic reactions between the liposomal eye spray and make-up or cosmetics.

Yes, wearing contact lenses can often lead to dry eyes by disturbing the lipid layer of the eye, resulting in increased tear evaporation. Using the liposomal eye spray has no known adverse effect on contact lenses.

The liposomal eye spray has a slight inherent smell of natural lecithin (phospholipids), which disappears very quickly after application. The product doesn’t contain any perfume to avoid allergic reactions.

Because the spray is sealed with a non venting pump, no contaminants can enter during use. Once used, the product can be used for up to 6 months and can safely be shared between users.

For technical reasons the bottle cannot be emptied completely. The standpipe does not reach to the very bottom of the bottle, as this could affect the spray. However, all bottles are “over-filled” to ensure that consumers can use the indicated quantity, which is normally around 100 sprays.

Yes, Lipomyst can be applied with eye medication but in that case it is recommended to use first the eye medication, wait 10 minutes and then apply Lipomyst on the closed eyes. As the spray is applied onto closed eyes, it will not wash away the eye medication.
